UConn is classified as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University—Extensive. As such, the Technology Incubation Program is able to offer technically-based start-up companies access to a unique range of unparalleled resources including:

Incubator Facilities and Services
The Incubation Program offers incubator facilities at three locations across the state: Storrs, Farmington, and Avery Point. The Incubation Program lease agreement includes a description of the property and rent to be paid, and services such as utilities, shipping and receiving, security, grounds-keeping, janitorial services, snow and ice removal, external maintenance, and repairs and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Incubating companies are required to comply with all state and federal requirements relating to hazardous waste removal, environmental health and safety, radiation safety and animal health and welfare. The University provides monitoring and training in these areas. A limited amount of parking is offered at current University rates. Library and Computer Network
The University of Connecticut Libraries is the largest public research collection in the state. The collection includes books, print and electronic periodicals, microfilm, maps, sound and video recordings, musical scores, and an ever-growing array of electronic resources, including ebooks, streaming audio and video collections, as well as art and photographic image databases.
Student Employees/Interns
In addition to its state-of-the-art facilities, a key benefit of the Incubation Program is its ability to connect incubator companies with University faculty and students. As part of its program, the Incubation Program advertises to suitable students and helps recruit them to work as part-time employees or interns.
Equipment/Instrumentation
Some university departments and faculty have large and expensive, specialized equipment. The Incubation Program helps negotiate agreements between the relevant faculty and the company, given that time is available on the instrument and client employees have been properly trained.
Customized Business Support Services
Through a network of service providers and advisors, the Incubation Program offers access to a variety of business consultants and expertise, including accountants and lawyers to help with issues important to start-up companies. The Incubation Program also supports business plan development, organizes events to promote collaboration among UConn faculty and scientists, and provides access to experienced entrepreneurs, advisors, and mentors. Further, through UConn’s School of Business, the Incubation Program can access knowledgeable faculty and students who can provide advice to emerging companies.

Educational Events and Videos
The Technology Incubation Program provides a range of educational events aimed at helping entrepreneurs navigate the oceans of information available, so they can easily get to what is relevant for them while they are in their earliest stages of business and product development. These events include seminars held at the various campuses of the University of Connecticut, webinars and other entrepreneurship-stimulating events such as informational meetings for CEOs of Incubation Program companies and business development, training and networking sessions.
